El Tour de Tucson Race and Aid Station

WOW. Praise to our awesome Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus the Christ.

For the first time we helped out at the El Tour with an official Aid Station. We were stationed at mile 51, close to Kolb on Sunrise. Thanks to the help of members and friends we were able to help riders by giving them water, fruits, Hammer Gel and HEED. Some riders needed mechanical help and we were able to provide them with a basic service even there, fixing tires and adjusting derailleurs.
Javier and Marco after setting up the Aid Station. Shade was important for some riders who overheated during the first 51 miles. The high was 78F which was very pleasant, but riders needed to drink lots of water.

Todd riding the 80 miles is being helped by Marco. Todd came in 143 in 4:47. At least he stopped unlike our speeding Travis (picture still pending) who rode the 109 in 4:49. Way to GO Travis.

Here is another member, Patsy. She mastered the 80 miles for the first time. WOOOHOOO !!!

Finally, but not least, we have Eric. He also rode the 80, his favorite distance. He rode on his brand new bike and it served him well. Eric is a bicycle accident attorney and gives us many useful hints and insights into the bicycle laws in Arizona. There were many more members and other riders who participated in this years El Tour de Tucson.

"O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!"
Psalm 8:1
